A Single Woman's Journey To Motherhood

Name:
Location: Washington, United States

I began my TTC journey in January 2005. It finally worked with the 5th IUI and along came Eliana! I started trying for a second (T42) a little over a year later, and was thrilled to get pregnant on the second try this time. Jacob soon joined our family! Not sure if I am done at two, but come along for my journey in motherhood. If you stop by, please leave me a short note! I like to know when I have visitors. :)

OH NO!!!

Making jelly tonight with some wonderfully donated blackberry juice (already juiced by someone else...how awesome is that?!) and the pot I was using was too small....and boiled all over my glass flat top stove?! YIKES! How do I clean it? Is it irreparable?

Grrr...I still had two more batches I wanted to do tonight...

Beta is back

And it is negative as expected. At least not I can stop the Prometrium and hopefully get rid of this horrendous nighttime nausea...until next month.

In awe...

I am watching my little girl walk around the computer room here, investigating how so many different things work, and I am just in awe of her. She has grown so much in ability (even if not so much in height!) in her 17 months. Watching a child grow is such a miracle, it really is!

I can't wait until my new camera arrives, could be today even! I ended up not buying either of my considerations and instead going for the Canon S3 IS. I got it at a great price in between the cost of the other two I was considering and supposedly it is a higher level camera (probably two high for my ability, but hopefully I will learn).

I went in for my beta this morning. Waiting for the results this afternoon, though I am relatively certain it is negative...

Step away from the computer!

Hello. My name is Katrina and I am a Fertility Friend junkie. It has been 1 minute since I stared at my chart or visited a circle to talk with other junkies. My addiction is complicated by a POAS addiction as well. I couldn't stop myself last week from buying 50 (yes 50!) internet cheapies. Someone please save me.

Positive thinking

I have decided that I definitely will get pregnant again some time. I know, that is at once earth-shattering news as well as perhaps completely untrue or at most unassumable.

In any case, I get emails from an online plus size clothing store which has relatively recently added maternity (in time for my pregnancy with Eliana) telling me of their specials. I was checking out their 5 and 10 dollar sale and was thrilled to find both my most comfortable maternity pants on sale for only 10 dollars, but also some very comfortable maternity tees on sale for 5 dollars. Add to that the other email I had received giving me a 20% off your entire order, and I felt I just could not pass this up. So, my maternity wardrobe is fully stocked (well, at least in the tshirt and black pants department) for my upcoming pregnancy.

In a completely unrelated matter, I am in the market for a new digital camera. Mine is so painfully slow at taking pictures and I would just like a new one. I have mostly narrowed my decision to the Canon A710 IS or the Canon SD850 IS (100 dollars more and I am not sure that the difference in price is worth it). Though, I am open to other options I suppose. The main thing I want is a faster camera, but I think the idea of image stabilization (IS) seems pretty nifty. Anyone have an opinion on these cameras?

Exciting twist!

Well, I just couldn't stop peeing on those damn sticks this week (obsessively I might add...just about every 4 hours while awake LOL). I finally got a positive on Wed, and just to be sure I also used a digital OPK and finally got that smiley face I was looking for. SO....I decided to go for it! I missed about an hour and a half of my class which of course happened to be the exact time that our principal came by to see how we were doing but thankfully my partner "covered" and said I had a doctor's appointment (which in a way was true). I had the IUI Thursday around 1:30pm and by about 4:00, I was feeling a bit crampy and bloated, which I am hoping means that the timing was just right and I ovulated as predicted. Of course, since I didn't have a repeat ultrasound after last week, I have no idea how many follicles there were, but I am guessing 3. Last week I had a 13mm and two 10mm and I would assume that in a week the three should have matured. I am most certainly NOT hoping for triplets, however. :) One healthy baby is all I am asking for.
