A Single Woman's Journey To Motherhood

Location: Washington, United States

I began my TTC journey in January 2005. It finally worked with the 5th IUI and along came Eliana! I started trying for a second (T42) a little over a year later, and was thrilled to get pregnant on the second try this time. Jacob soon joined our family! Not sure if I am done at two, but come along for my journey in motherhood. If you stop by, please leave me a short note! I like to know when I have visitors. :)

Stuffed up...

Sick and exhausted...What a week. This week I had my final cake class, I must post the picture of my final cake...I am quite pleased with it. Of course, that makes for a late night though as I don't get back home until a little after 9:00. Then on Wednesday night we had Open House at school which meant I didn't get home until about 9:30. And then this morning I woke up with someone's cold...I tried blaming various students today, but it could just as well have been the babysitter....LOL. In any case, I am stuffed up and wishing that for just tonight I wasn't pregnant so I could take some good drugs...but of course I don't wish that at all...

Also this week, I had been concerned at how high my blood sugars had been running so I called the OB and Tuesday I had to run out to the pharmacy to pick up some glyburide. I added glyburide on my first pregnancy too..but not until quite a bit later...like maybe 12-13 weeks? maybe even later...It seems to be working well as my numbers are excellent now, but it does have me worried that maybe I will have more problems this pregnancy with regulating my blood sugars...

Tomorrow night I am supposed to go out to play Bunco..even have the sitter all lined up. I am trying to decide whether to cancel or not. It only happens once a month and I enjoy the adult fun (no, not that kind silly...), but I know there is another pregnant lady there too and she would probably not be too thrilled to catch my cold...

Finally, very much looking forward to my first ultrasound on Wednesday! :) I got my OB to schedule it which is awesome...only costs me 10 dollars as opposed to the 150 or something it would have been at the fertility clinic.

191.5!

An excellent second beta if I do say so myself. :) It more than doubled, though it was also more than 48 hours...more like around 54 hours. Yay!

I am going to have my 6 week ultrasound through my OB so that I won't have to pay more than a 10 dollar copay, so just waiting on a date! :)

Beta is in

My first beta is in and it was 73 at 13dpo. I was a bit bummed cause I thought it was low, but according to betabase the average is 76 so I think it should be ok. I go in for a repeat tomorrow with results either late tomorrow night or Wednesday (I suspect Wed, but hoping for Tues night)

Faintly positive

Alright readers out in blogland. I apologize for vanishing, but the beginning of school is always a very busy time, and I have had company for two weeks as well...that's my excuse.

In about 9 months, I may have another excuse...

I am 11dpIUI and a chronic tester (but a little more refrained than normal because my mom is visiting). Yesterday on my IC there was a "perhaps there is a line, or perhaps I am willing it to be there" line within the time period. 5 hours later on my way to bed, there is a definite line. Not sure if it was an evap or what...So, this morning I use both an IC and an Answer early. Within the time limit, the IC looks negative. The answer early, on the other hand, definitely has a very faint line! Go in for beta on Sunday, results Monday. :)
