I began my TTC journey in January 2005. It finally worked with the 5th IUI and along came Eliana! I started trying for a second (T42) a little over a year later, and was thrilled to get pregnant on the second try this time. Jacob soon joined our family! Not sure if I am done at two, but come along for my journey in motherhood. If you stop by, please leave me a short note! I like to know when I have visitors. :)

JamDaddy, you are wrong for that. :)

It'll get better. Don't be so worried about it, and don't say that you hate it. Think of what this is leading to. Maybe if you're more relaxed, the testing will be easier for you.

I am so wrong sometimes. I like needles, bwahaha. Actually my mother and brother had to have allergy shots when I was growing up. I was the shot giver because I was not afraid of needles and was gentle. I even got to give my wife shots when she was pregnant. I think it is some kind of sick facination.

Keep going on the testing, it only gets easier. Remember each prick gets you one step closer to pregnancy.

I'm an arse.

I just realized that I could offer a tip that *might* help with your testing. My husband is a diabetic.

If the problem is that you're not getting enough blood, here are some tips:
-if taking blood from your fingertip, make sure your hand is warm. You can rub your hands together or even squeeze the finger you intend to poke to increase the blood flow.

-stop squeezing before you use the lancet to poke your finger, or the stick will hurt more.

If the problem is an error on your meter, I *might* be able to help with that. Just let me know. You can email me at shorty1kanobi@msn.com

P.S. You're doing well, I wanted to let you know that. The changes a diabetic makes are more complicated than what many think "oh so you just don't eat sugar" and you're doing a great job. Keep up the good work!

Hehe thanks Mandy. Of all people, it was a former student who taught me a trick that has helped. Apparently pulling your finger backwards brings blood to the puncture site...Why? I don't know, but it has stopped the repetitive pokings!
