I began my TTC journey in January 2005. It finally worked with the 5th IUI and along came Eliana! I started trying for a second (T42) a little over a year later, and was thrilled to get pregnant on the second try this time. Jacob soon joined our family! Not sure if I am done at two, but come along for my journey in motherhood. If you stop by, please leave me a short note! I like to know when I have visitors. :)

I did it!

Short post right now. I know you are all shocked that I am posting mid-week.

I made an initial appointment with one of the fertility clinics here in Seattle. It is in two weeks from today. Woohoo!

Woohoo! Are we going to get a daily count down? I was watching Maury on daytime tv and it looks like a lot of women are successful at having children by drinking and sleeping with whole cities of men. They all seem to take 5, 10, 15 paternity tests to no avail. That would get rid of your known donor problem, lol. Just a thought...

hehe. Well, I will try not to bore you all with a daily countdown. :)

This is, of course, only the initial appointment. You know, medical history, maybe some bloodwork, etc. I am still not expecting to actually begin until spring...I suspect there will be a variety of things that need to be done first.

I suppose if I had enough sex daily for like a year that might also do the trick...but that isn't in the cards right now. :)

I don't have time to post a lot, but I was in your shoes just a few months ago. I was/am single very overweight and had PCOS. I started actively trying in March right after my birthday. I went through 4 cycles until I became pregnant and the baby stuck. My cycles were 3-7 50mgs of Clomid, measuring U/S CD 12, if mature follies then 1 Orvidrel HCG trigger cd 12 @10pm, 1 IUI 36 hours post trigger. Two of the four cycles I had to sit out do to over stimulated ovaries. I'm so happy for you. This is a wild journey. I wish you the best of luck and will love to watch your progress.

This is just my regular pregnant woman blog, but http://www.toby-girl.net/belly if you are interested.

There is also my TTC blog here

If you have the time I'd love to hear from you.

Long journey, first step -- how exciting! How long do you expect it'll be between first consultation and first try?

I'd like to begin with a hearty "WOO-HOO!"

Your journey is beginning, and your blog is finally taking the shape that you meant for it to initially. These things just take time. :)

I'm so happy for you and I wish you the best!

Anon (though I suspect I know who you are from the SMC board..:)- I will be sure to email sometime this weekend. I always find it so encouraging to hear of other women's success!:)

Ryan - I really have no idea at this moment how long it will take to begin. It depends since each RE (reproductive endocrinologist...the fertility specialists) has their own protocol. Some insist on a ton of procedures before beginning...like HSG (don't ask because I don't know the words...) which checks if the tubes are open, and some will just test hormone levels and stuff and get started...could be 4 months, could be 2...who knows. I think it will also depend what point of my cycle I am at when I first see them. (assuming I HAVE a cycle...) If I am about to begin a new cycle as I think I just might if all goes well this month again, then they will be able to start with many of the tests as soon as that cycle starts...

Carrie - Yes. I am so happy to get started. I honestly didn't think I would get in so quickly. I didn't plan on starting until spring when I finish my Masters, but I won't complain if I start earlier. :) BTW, I am STILL having trouble with my one married couple of Sims who won't be red hearts so that they can share a bed...I have tried everything I know how. Tender kisses, romantic kisses, flirting, talking, appreciating, woohoo, nothing. HELP?!
