I began my TTC journey in January 2005. It finally worked with the 5th IUI and along came Eliana! I started trying for a second (T42) a little over a year later, and was thrilled to get pregnant on the second try this time. Jacob soon joined our family! Not sure if I am done at two, but come along for my journey in motherhood. If you stop by, please leave me a short note! I like to know when I have visitors. :)

Long awaited update..

I am sorry I have been so remiss in posting. Everything seems to be going OK with the pregnancy now. I had my second OB appointment yesterday. My OB will not refer me to the perinatologist even though I would like to be referred in light of my preexisting problems - diabetes and hypertension as well as since I had a blood clot this pregnancy...but, he thinks he can handle it.

Unfortunately, that has meant less ultrasounds as last pregnancy I saw the peri every month and they did an ultrasound every month....sigh

I have rented a home doppler and finally found the heartbeat at home here Sunday night. That is very reassuring to hear and know all is well.

I go back to the OB in 2 weeks. Not sure why 2 weeks this time. Could be that my blood pressure was 127/84 which seems to be creeping up again despite doubling my meds about a month ago, could have been because he couldn't find the heartbeat with his doppler (I didn't tell him where to look, just so I could get the ultrasound, but he was looking WAY too high...), could be because of the wonderful UTI I have that woke me in the middle of the night last Saturday thinking my appendix was about to burst or something equally distressing...who knows, but I am actually glad to be seen more often and know that they are keeping an eye on things.

My anatomical ultrasound was finally scheduled, Jan 3rd, same day as my next hypertension appointment.

Eliana is starting the terrible two tantrums, particularly when we need to go in the car....of course, at the same time, she is incredibly adorable as her speech is developing and she is saying more and more, and really becoming more affectionate. we had our Christmas pictures taken on Sat, i will have to upload a few here. :)

Finally, a shameless plea, if anyone out there is in need of/wanting some Tupperware, I would be thrilled if you ordered from me between now and the end of Friday. There is a special prize I would love to win, I need $100.00 of sales in these two days...In case you need the address here it is:
Katrina's Tupperware Site
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm a Norwegian journalist working on a story about singlemothers by choice. Single and lesbian women in Norway have to leave the country to get assisted fertilization, and I want to write about the situation in the US in contrast to that. I've been reading your blog, and I'd like to talk to you about your experiences. If you're interested, you can reach me on katrineholmoy@gmail.com. Hope to hear from you!
Kindly, Katrine Ree Holmoy
