I began my TTC journey in January 2005. It finally worked with the 5th IUI and along came Eliana! I started trying for a second (T42) a little over a year later, and was thrilled to get pregnant on the second try this time. Jacob soon joined our family! Not sure if I am done at two, but come along for my journey in motherhood. If you stop by, please leave me a short note! I like to know when I have visitors. :)

UTI follow-up and E stories

I don't think I have done much updating on Ellie's UTI. We went in for repeat bloodwork about 2 weeks later and the bacteria (E coli) was gone. The doctor, however, wanted to run some tests still to see if 1) there was any damage from the UTI (he said since she can't tell you when she hurts it was always possible she had them before and we didn't know it) or 2) if there was an anatomical cause for the UTI, mainly a reflux of some sort. So, we scheduled a VCUG and ultrasound.

Those happened last Friday. I was very nervous about the VCUG because it required sedation, but it went well and Eliana just did great. There was no reflux which was definitely a good thing to hear. The doctor called later this week to tell us that her kidney was a bit swollen and we needed to do blood tests to check the kidney function and then a repeat ultrasound in 2 months. He didn't seem too concerned and said that it was likely just a reaction to the infection, however, since this is now a month after the infection, I kind of wonder about that...We just went in for the blood test this morning so won't know until later this week.

Eliana just cracks me up all the time. I just love being her mom. Now that she can walk, you just need to mention bath (or nap because apparently it sounds the same LOL) and she runs, as best as her little legs can do, to the bathroom yelling "ba! ba!".

Lately, she wakes up in the morning, and says "Anna! Anna!" and of course, on most mornings that is where we go after we wake up, to the babysitter's house and the babysitter has a daughter named Anna, 6 weeks older than Eliana.

Eliana LOVES babies. She sees babies and repeatedly says "baby, baby". Whenever she can get close enough to a baby she also likes to hug them by laying her head down on them. It is very cute. She has lots of babies in her life right now as I have two friends who recently had twins about one month apart.

And, finally, just a little bit of news: AF came on Friday (two days earlier than I would have liked...) and I started the Clomid today...maybe Eliana will have a baby brother/sister of her own soon...
