A Single Woman's Journey To Motherhood

Location: Washington, United States

I began my TTC journey in January 2005. It finally worked with the 5th IUI and along came Eliana! I started trying for a second (T42) a little over a year later, and was thrilled to get pregnant on the second try this time. Jacob soon joined our family! Not sure if I am done at two, but come along for my journey in motherhood. If you stop by, please leave me a short note! I like to know when I have visitors. :)

Quick update on what you all want to know...

I absolutely, positively, promise to write a longer post sometime this weekend, but I must take advantage of these two hours the babysitter has agreed to take Eliana so that I can unpack our bags since I had to waste all my planned time yesterday dealing with lost car keys (so much has happened since I last posted I guess...I didnt realize I hadnt posted since November?!)

Anyway, this baby continues to be very different than Eliana. I have had so many problems that I didn't have with my daughter that I was beginning to become convinced that baby was a boy since the pregnancy has been so different. While home for Christmas, I began feeling baby move...with actual kicks, unlike the soft rolling I felt at first with Eliana (and even that was much later...more like 26 weeks I think...not 18).

I finally had my ultrasound yesterday which confirmed my suspicions. Baby is DEFINITELY a boy. And absolutely not shy at all. The minute the ultrasound probe caught a glimpse of him he was showing off his goods for all to see...and continued to every few minutes of the entire ultrasound. :) He is also very active as I had suspected, moving and rolling and kicking and punching the entire ultrasound. With Eliana, she was usually sleeping which was just as troublesome for the ultrasound tech. I have to go back in a couple weeks to get a few more shots of this little guy since he would stay still long enough to get a couple pictures, but he is 100% boy. I will have my little girl and my little boy just as I had initially wanted. :)

I promise to update more with all the happenings in DEcember including a trip to the emergency room and an MRI, as well as some ultrasound pictures later. I am off to unpack.

Oh, and his name so far (I may change my mind but this was the boy name I had chosen when pregnant with Eliana and I still like) is Jacob Dennis.
